What Refresh does with your information, in plain terms. Short version: it reads your health data on your phone, uses it there, and never sends it anywhere.

With your permission, Refresh reads health data from Apple Health on your device: sleep analysis, heart rate and heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, steps, active and basal energy, exercise minutes, stand hours, wrist temperature, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, mindful minutes, time in daylight, body weight, and dietary entries you have logged.
You grant these permissions individually through Apple's own Health permission screen, and you can withdraw any of them at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices. The app keeps working with whatever you allow; it simply shows less.
Nowhere. Health data is read into memory while the app is running and used to draw what you see. Refresh operates no servers and holds no accounts. There is no upload, no backup, no sync, and no copy of your health data anywhere outside your own device and your own iCloud backup of it, which is governed by Apple's terms rather than ours.
Your preferences are saved locally so the app remembers them between launches: your goals and targets, alarm and reminder settings, which metric tiles you have chosen and in what order, your subscription state, and a marker recording how far through your sleep history the app has already looked. Foods you have saved are cached locally so they can be re-added quickly.
Deleting the app removes all of it.
Refresh makes exactly two kinds of outbound request, neither of which carries health data:
api.open-meteo.com to retrieve local temperature and daylight times.
Location is requested at roughly one-kilometre accuracy, no account or key is
involved, and nothing identifying you is included.world.openfoodfacts.org to fetch
the item's nutrition information. Nothing about you is attached to the request.Both services are third parties with their own privacy policies. Both requests are optional: decline location and the weather call never happens; log food manually and the lookup never happens.
The Refresh watch app reads from and writes to Apple Health on the watch and communicates with your iPhone through Apple's own device-to-device connection. Nothing passes through us.
Bedtime reminders and alarms are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification system. No push server is involved and no token is sent anywhere.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Refresh never sees your payment details, and Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction. The app stores only whether a subscription is currently active.
Sending feedback from within the app opens Apple's mail composer with a message addressed to us. You can see and edit everything before it sends, and nothing is transmitted until you tap Send. If you email us, we hold that correspondence in order to reply to it, and for no other purpose.
Refresh is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects nothing, there is nothing for us to hold in any case.
Rights to access, correct, export or delete personal data — including under the GDPR and CCPA — apply to data a company holds about you. We hold none. Your health data is under your control in Apple Health, where you can view, export or delete it at any time, and revoking the app's permissions there cuts off its access immediately.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the updated version appears on this page. Because the app has no way to contact you, this page is the record.
